These sessions are open to everyone, come try climbing we have all the equipment for you!
Once a week we organise a group social. This is a chance for everyone to get to know each other outside of climbing and have lots of fun! They are a huge part of the Essex experience and each week has a different theme, just to keep us on our toes. So be prepared to dress up and jump right into fun and games with all the family. Each social will have an event page created by the social sec' in order to provide you with the details as to what theme, where and when it is taking place; failing this, you can check our Intragram account for more information ( uoeclimbing )
Trips
Throughout the year the club tries to organise as many trips as possible, be it to other climbing walls or outdoor adventures, however the two main trips of the year are the Freshers trip (usually taking place from the end of October to start of November) and the Summer trip.
This years Freshers trip was to the peak district (Birchen edge) on the 4th - 6th of november, it is always a brilliant experience that brings the whole group together, so ask the execs for more information if you'd like to attend!

More important than this is the summer trip; most other clubs take part in 'tour' in which all clubs visit a destination together, however we often find that the destinations aren't suitable for climbing, therefore we have organised our own summer adventure in which we can relax and get some amazing outdoor climbing done, all over the world. The most recent trips have been to Italy and Spain.
Summer Trip for 2017 - Carlo Ballardini (cballa@essex...) is this years trip sec' and as such, has arrange the summer trip for this year.
The trip will take place between the 30th June - 10th July and will be in El Chorro, located in the south of Spain near Malaga. Travel to and from the trip is left for you to organise, be it flying, eurorailing or even hitch-hiking as in previous years. Club Aims
We wish to allow climbers of all experiences to further their skills and enjoy climbing in a friendly and relaxed environment.
In order to do this we manage to bring everyone (of all abiities) together via organised climbing sessions and social events.
By the end of the year all members will hopefully have experienced various types of indoor and outdoor climbing.
