This week was an “ultimate” week. With 50 fixtures played, our Essex teams were busy battling across a range of sports at home and away.  Special mention to our brand-new Women’s Ultimate team who travelled to London to play the first round robin matches.

Some of the key events included:

Men's Basketball have continued their domination of the leagues with all 3 men’s teams remaining undefeated in BUCS (14 wins from 14 matches).

Women’s Football had a winning week with the 1st team winning 3-2 at home to University of South Wales and the second team thumping Imperial 2nd team 19-0 away from home.

Women’s Lacrosse lent Kent University some spare kit enroute to their home domination 19-4 win at Wivenhoe Park.

Volleyball Men’s 1st pulled off another 3-0 win against the Imperial 1st team.

Netball 1st had a strong home win against St. Georges (52-31) to go 2nd in the league table.

American Football had a tough away fixture at UEA Pirates, with an unfortunate dismissal early in the game.  The pirates won 16-0 but the scoreline doesn’t reflect the closeness of the teams.  We look forward to hosting UEA in April for Derby Day.

With 50 matches played (33 home and 17 away) and 3 rearranged, Essex came away with 20 wnis and one draw, keeping the home win rate above 52%.
